    Steam Engine   Case CO.  1899
Now located in City Park
The purpose of bringing the seam engine back to the valley is to focus the interest of all citizens in our area on our heritage and historical past.  This is an opportunity for everyone to become involved in a project to preserve and honor the past.  It was used in this area to thresh grain and alfalfa seed in the fall and winter months.  It was used to saw wood in Granite Canyon, Dry Creek then Swazy Mountain.  Adrian Alldredge and Palmer Wrofloff restored the steam engine in June of 1966.  To contribute to this endeavor please contact Howard Clayton, Don Morris, Lee Tippetts or Fred Tolbert.

Topaz Relocation Camp, See the Hermit's Cabin, Amasey Valley for abandoned gold mines, Ibex Mine, Petroglyphs and Great Stone Face (is it "Joseph Smith" guardian over the desert  or "the Devil's Chimney") and Gunnison Bend Massacre.  Robin's Roost, legends say it was used by bank robbers.

Hike Notch Peak
3,000 foot sheer cliff made of limestone.  The 9,725 ft. elevation peak towers above the desert valleys around it, whose elevation is about 5,000 foot. Hike up and peer down.  Don't forget to sign the book at the top. Has been listed as a top ten hike in Utah.

The largest American desert.  The Great Basin, covers 190,000 sq. mi., stretching from the Sierra Nevada mountains in the west to the Wasatch mountains in the east.  This region is named the Great Basin because no water drains to the sea; instead it evaporates in to the open sky or disappears into the ground.  For more information see www.greatbasinheritage.org

#4  The Pony Express Trail    The operation only lasted a brief 18 months, but the legends and lore will live forever.  During 1860 and 1861 mail was delivered between St. Joseph, Missouri and Sacramento, California in 10 days, cutting the time required by the overland stage in half.  To send mail was $5.00 an ounce.  Buffalo Bill Cody and Calamity Jane were just a few who rode.  Way stations were 10-15 miles apart.  Each rider rode about 75 miles.

#5 Desert ATV Trails  These trails consist of; Cricket Mtn's, Conger Mtn's, Amasa Mtn's and Burbank Mtn's.  You can pick up maps for these locations in the Delta Area Chamber office or BLM office in Fillmore.  The web site information is at www.stateparks.utah.gov/ohv/odm.htm    The maps are free but if you wish to have them mailed, we will need to charge for shipping and handling.

#6 Experience U.S. Highway 50 - Long Beach, CA to Provincetown, MA. more than 3,652 miles.  and U.S. Highway 50 some still know it as the Lincoln Highway - A Major east-west route stretching from Washington to California.  We have travelers walking, biking, skateboarding, you name it we've seen it.  They come through town to "just do it" and some for a cause.  Both Highways have significant stories to tell.  You can get more information on web sites designated for each.  These two highways come together and make up Delta's main street.  One of the few City main streets to go east and west and one of the widest.  There is one stop light which is a blessing at times.
